Intro to Quillwork Workshop with Suzan Marie

Come and spend four evenings learning about the intricacies of quillwork with Dene author, educator and renowned artist Suzan Marie. Each day, participants will learn the techniques and processes of working with quills. You’ll be leaving with a small handcrafted, practical and decorative bag. 

Suzan is an amazing source of knowledge and has played a very large role in the revival of Dene art. Come listen, share, and learn. Don’t miss out on this amazing experience! This workshop is open to the public.    

The workshop will be held at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre and will run from Monday, November 2nd to Thursday November 5th from 5pm - 8pm each day. Light snacks will be provided and COVID-19 safety measures will be in place. This workshop  is open to beginners. 

COVID-19 safety measures:
  • Tables and participants will be spaced 2m apart.
  • Sanitizers and disinfectants will be available.
  • Masks are not mandatory but are recommended.
  • Each participant will be given their own tools for the week to reduce use of shared surfaces.
If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, have an under-lying health condition, or have traveled outside the Yukon, Nunavut, NWT, or BC in the last 14 days please withdraw from the workshop for a full refund.
