Yúk'e Arts Market

Yúk'e Arts Market - Save the Date

Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association (YFNCT) and Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Yúk'e Arts Market will take place from December 5th-20th at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre.

The Yúk'e Arts Market will showcase artwork from Indigenous Yukon artists displayed in a beautiful gallery setting and potentially online through YFNArts.ca

We're extending an invitation to all Indigenous artists living and working in Yukon to submit an upcoming application, which will be available soon, to be part of the market which will coincide with the well-established 12 Days of Christmas and the KDCC Open House.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
YFNCT will work closely with KDCC to establish safe protocols for the Yúk'e Market. We will share these details with you once they are available.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE MARKET?
All Indigenous visual artists living in Yukon are invited to submit an application.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

Step 1. Inventory
Start sewing! Artists can begin creating inventory for the market.

Step 2. Registration
Artists who wish to participate will be asked to complete a simple online registration form by November 13th. The registration form will be available shortly. You will be asked to include a list of items you anticipate to sell. Please also consider signing up for the YFN Arts Brand if you haven't already.

Step 3. Delivery of Artwork
You will be asked to deliver your artwork to YFNCT by a set deadline. You will be invited to restock new work to the gallery throughout the market. Artists living and working outside of Whitehorse will receive a subsidy for shipping your work to and from Whitehorse.

Step 4. Sales and Payment
Artists will be paid for their art sales at regular intervals throughout the event.

Step 5. Retrieving unsold Artwork
Artists will be asked to come to Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre between the dates of December 21st-23rd to pick up any unsold items. Artists living outside of Whitehorse can anticipate their work being mailed back during this time or other arrangements can be made for pick-up.

YFN Arts Brand
YFNCT will be distributing brand merchandise and marketing material including sales bags, seals, boxes and tags. Artists currently registered in the brand should tag all of their work prior to dropping off inventory.

Next Steps
YFNCT will be opening registration before the end of October. Watch this space to be updated when registration is launched.
