Melton Mitts and Mitt Strings Workshop with Diane Olsen
This workshop series is brought to you by Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association, Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre and is generously funded by Lotteries Yukon, Yukon Government, Canada Council for the Arts and the Government of Canada.Melton Mitts and Mitt Strings Workshop with Diane OlsenCome and spend a day with Northern Tutchone, Gwich'in and Han Hwech'in artist Diane Olsen and learn how to make melton mitts and mitt strings to keep you warm this winter! This workshop is open to the public and minimal sewing experience would be an asset.The workshop will be held at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre and will run on Saturday November 14th from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Lunch will be provided and COVID-19 safety measures will be in place.COVID-19 safety measures:
- Tables and participants will be spaced 2m apart.
- Sanitizers and disinfectants will be available.
- Masks are not mandatory but are recommended.
- Each participant will be given their own tools for the week to reduce use of shared surfaces.If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, have an under-lying health condition, or have traveled outside the Yukon, Nunavut, NWT, or BC in the last 14 days please withdraw from the workshop for a full refund.If registration is full, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to a waitlist!
